Sick

Warning: this post is probably TMI – too much information! (Although I don’t talk about bras.)

I’m sick. It started with Saturday when I was stuffy from allergies. Then yesterday it was really bad. I took a half dozen allergy medications to no avail. Earlier in the week I thought maybe I was sick, but Christi pointed out that I was better at work (where my allergies don’t bother me.) So all day yesterday I thought it was just allergies… until nightfall. I was up most of the night vomiting and running a fever. I woke up with a temp of 101.1°, but I went to work anyway because 1) I wanted to breathe cleaner air and 2) I’m in a class and would’ve felt bad missing it.

Yesterday, my mom gave me an old trail my grandfather made for me. As I was staring at it my mom said, “What? You don’t want it?” Oh, exactly the opposite. I love it. Christi suggested I put up a shelf in the den/office. And I can use the shelf he made me!

Christi asked last night “What are we going to do for ‘Fuzz Therapy’?” And that’s when I lost it.

I tried to get as much Fuzz Therapy in as I could last night. I hope it lasts a long time.

Christi left for Raleigh, NC yesterday and I’ve had the kids all by myself. Christi left the house clean, but we didn’t have any bread or juice. We could’ve gotten by without bread, but juice!? No way! So we made a trip to the grocery store. That made me anxious. Things went well until our ride home when Alyssa announced she peed in her car seat. And I have a “thing” about body excrement. So I overreacted. I won’t tell what I said. When we got home I “had” to wash the fabric for the seat which meant I had to disassemble the thing! Seriously, I had to take the bottom off. I wouldn’t have done it, but the directions told me how. So I washed that but it wasn’t dry by the time my mom got over, so I didn’t have the seat together yet and we were going out to dinner. Dinner with the kids, even with Christi, makes me anxious. I took 2 Xanax about 5 minutes apart and had I beer at dinner, so I wasn’t stressin’ too much. Oh, when my mom called from the airport I had both kids screaming. Ugh. And then my mom said that Christi parked in the wrong section and it cost $24 for her to get out. Christi left a $ 20 but Mom mentioned that it didn’t cover it and she sounded like I owed her $4 when she got to my house. Well, on the way to dinner I tried to give her the only dollar bills I had, 2, and she’s like, “Oh you don’t need to pay me.” Which was the opposite of what I was expecting. So that was relieving. Then she added “And that wouldn’t even cover it!” in a joking, but knowing my mom maybe not so joking, way.

Bedtime went pretty well. Joel went down but woke up ~15 minutes later. I just had to rock him for a minute or so and he slept the rest of the night. Alyssa started screaming because she wanted 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5 kisses. I complied. And she went to sleep and that was that. She woke up sometime around 7 and wanted to watch Dora so I turned that on and laid in bed awhile longer. So today had been going pretty well so far. There was something I wanted to write about about yesterday, but I can’t remember. Oh well, maybe it’ll come to me.

My favorite mother-in-law stayed over last night and Christi and I introduced her to the Wii. I don’t know whether she liked it or not, but she beat me in bowling on her first try.

Update

It’s been awhile, hasn’t it. Seems like no one is in the mood to blog these days. I just have the urge. Or maybe I just don’t have the time or energy.

I’m doing a new job at the same company. I’ve moved to a different cube on a different floor. So far, I like what I’m doing, but the atmosphere could be a little better. My boss has yet to introduce me to the other 21 teammates. I think that’s wrong.

I’ve moved hosting companies and am now with HostGator. I’m paying 3-4 times more, but hopefully it will be more reliable. I’m pleased so far. I miss the one-on-one I had with the last guy, but HostGator has surprised me with going over and beyond whenever I’ve had a trouble ticket.

Christmas is coming up quick and I really haven’t bought much. Christi’s done a lot of shopping. And we’re not exchanging gifts this year. (Money’s tight.) And my depression has hit me kind of hard lately. Winter has just started and I’m already sick of it. And my parking is going up 40% next year. Blech.

Does this blog entry sound as depressing as I feel right now?

We didn’t get our Christmas tree from Beebee Town (sp?) this year because the place shut down. Got it at another place and I kept running off leaving Christi to wrangle the kids. Then Lexi rolled in some shit. Yuck. At least it’s closer. And they have this machine that giggles and shakes all the dead needles out of the tree. I’d never seen that before.

Joel

I was really tired this morning. And as I was showering, I was cursing under my breath that I don’t like newborns and was blaming Joel for my lack of sleep since he still doesn’t sleep through the night.
And then Christi had him “knock” on the shower door and when I opened it he gave me a huge smile and it made all my grumbling go away.

Well, I might have single-handily (sp?) ruined Christi and Julia’s friendship. Christi blogged about running into her at Target. She even said, “I hope Julia doesn’t read my blog anymore.” Well, I read the entry and was mad at Julia for hurting Christi and so I emailed Julia a link to the blog entry. I wanted her to know how much she hurt Christi.
Except, it turned on me. Well, Julia wrote to Christi, forwarding my email, telling Christi what an awful friend she was. If anything good came out of this, at least Christi knows now why Julia hasn’t talked to her.
I wish they could get past this and be friends, but I don’t think it will happen. I think Julia is too hurt.

Monday

Ugh. I’m sick. I have a cold. It sucks.

Last Saturday Christi and I went to dinner and a movie with the St. Amours (Amy and Bret). Dinner was at Texas Roadhouse and was delicious. I got the ribs with the side salad and sweet potato loaded. I don’t care much for their 1000 Island dressing, but the rest was great. I couldn’t eat it all and couldn’t take it with either because we went to a movie after.

The movie was 1408 and must’ve been the worst movie ever. It was really bad.

Alyssa has reverted back to “Mama”. She used to say “Mommy”, but recently it’s been “Mama”. I don’t know why.

Joel’s been eating “real” food for a week (?) now. He seems to really like it. He’s always fussy when we’re done.
